About
Me
I have been riding horses since the age of 5, and spent my childhood at local riding schools mucking out, grooming and generally spending most of my spare hours with our four legged furry friends.
On completing my A-levels, I studied as a working pupil at Newton Hall Equitation centre - completing my BHSAI qualification during this time. From here, I went on to study a BSc in Equine Sports Performance at Plumpton College.
Upon completing my degree, I started working as a freelance instructor and rider across Sussex, including competing in numerous local Dressage, SJ and XC competitions. Over the last decade, I have had the pleasure of working with many horses and riders across Sussex, and enjoy coaching all levels from beginner to those wanting to compete. I have also had the pleasure of competing several clients horses.
During my twenties, I developed a strong interest in fitness- specifically ultra-marathons, triathlons and rock-climbing, as well as becoming more involved with gym-based exercise. This led to developing a key interest in rider-specific fitness training, as I found my own riding and specifically my awareness of my seat and how to use it developed considerably having spent more time working on my own strength and suppleness whilst off the horse.
This led to the creation of 'Dressage and Deadlifts' – an area specifically for riders who would like to develop their ability and feel in the saddle, helping both ourselves and our horses move more freely and beautifully, in whatever discipline we choose to pursue.
